Princess Debuts New Onboard Fitness Programs with Active Options for Kids and Adults
Cruise Industry’s First In-Room Fitness Classes and Yoga for Kids & Teens Unveiled
New Lotus Spa Offerings Target Three Components of Balanced Health
SANTA CLARITA, Calif. (August 25, 2008) – Staying fit on a cruise has never been easier or more fun, as Princess Cruises introduces new ways for passengers to stay active on their vacation – including the industry’s first in-room fitness program, fun yoga classes for kids and teens, and a new array of Lotus Spa classes featuring the three vital components of balanced health.
Designed for cruisers of all ages and activity levels, these innovative fitness choices will help passengers get moving in the privacy of their own staterooms with Fitness@Sea hosted by celebrity trainer Gillian Clark; strike a pose in an interactive yoga class for junior cruisers; or test their mettle with a “Tour de France” spin class as part of the line’s new Core.Balance.Strength. program.
“We know that many of our passengers are interested in maintaining their exercise programs while on their cruise, and still others like to try new things to stay in shape,” said Jan Swartz, Princess Cruises senior vice president. “Our new fitness programs are a great way to do both.”
Fitness@Sea
Led by celebrity fitness trainer and bestselling fitness DVD host Gillian Clark, passengers can participate in a series of Fitness@Sea classes in the comfort of their own staterooms to challenge their minds and bodies. Produced as an industry first for Princess, the classes are designed as a way for passengers to comfortably start off their day with beneficial exercise. Clark leads nine different classes shown exclusively on the line’s Wellness Channel, including:
• Core strengthening
• Flexibility
• Arm and leg strengthening
• Big muscle groups and an overall body workout
• Cardio training
• Stretching
• The mind/body connection
• Breathing to enhance your workout
• Back strengthening
Fitness@Sea debuts fleetwide this month. On ships with Movies Under the Stars, morning sessions are offered on the signature 300-square-foot-screens for those passengers who want to enjoy the open air on deck and work out in a group setting.
Yoga for Kids and Teens
In another industry first, Princess will introduce yoga to kids and teens in a fun and imaginative way, while promoting exercise in a positive environment. With the worldwide popularity and widely known benefits of yoga, Princess brings this mind and body exercise to kids and teens ages 3-17.
The program promotes building coordination, breathing, balance and emotional strength with an element of play incorporating music, chants and singing. With yoga mats provided, kids can participate in a variety of yoga animal poses from Downward Dog to Cat and Mouse. Classes are complimentary and are currently rolling out fleetwide in the onboard youth and teen centers. Classes range from 30 minutes to one hour and parents are welcome to participate.
Core.Balance.Strength.
This exclusive new onboard fitness program focuses on three vital components of balanced health called Core.Balance.Strength. Using a variety of energetic new options for health-conscious passengers, these classes are offered in Princess’ Lotus Spa.
Core.Balance.Strength. is designed to help guests maximize their wellness potential by focusing on three fitness components, each with a series of corresponding classes. The Core component is designed to create a strong foundation on which to build, and is based primarily on the principles of Pilates and correct postural alignment. Balance focuses on centering both mind and body, and features fusion yoga classes. Strength includes a high-energy mixture of both strength and cardio classes designed to get the heart racing and the endorphins flowing.
As part of the new program, passengers who’ve dreamed of bicycling in the famed Tour de France can now get a taste of the action with a new Tour de Spin program, offered as part of the strength course options, which will benefit LIVESTRONG, the Lance Armstrong Foundation.
The new Core.Balance.Strength. program is currently being rolled out fleetwide and is expected to be in place aboard all Princess ships by the end of the year. A nominal fee is charged for each class, which includes the following:
Core
• AbSession: A 20-minute abdominal blaster
• Core Strength and Stretch: Pilates based, concentrating on creating a strong foundation
• Pilates Basics: An introduction to classic Pilates moves
• Fitball Pilates: Innovative core class utilizing the Pilates ring to develop a strong center
Balance
• Meditation Series: A guide to a clearer more enriched life
• Yoga Basics: Suitable for all fitness levels, this yoga series introduces the ancient concepts of yoga
• Strong Centered and Stretched: Fusion class incorporating yoga and Pilates, focusing on posture, strength and the individual’s chi
Strength
• Body Challenge Conditioning: The ultimate all over body workout set to chart topping hits
• Tour de Spin: Offered in association with LIVESTRONG, the Lance Armstrong Foundation, the Tour de Spin program will consist of three different 45-minute classes, each featuring a ride named after various stages of the Tour de France. Each spin class offers a different profile based on the class theme: Les Alps features multi-level resistances, Time Trial offers a fast interval workout and Alp D’Huez consists of a mind/body climb. One dollar from each class series will be donated to LIVESTRONG to fight cancer, and at the conclusion of the three-ride program each participant will receive one of the foundation’s famous yellow wrist bands.
• Step to My Groove: Beginners step aerobics, simple, easy and fun
In addition, the new program will continue to offer a selection of complimentary classes, including:
• Long and Lean Stretch class: An introductory stretching class with an emphasis on postural imbalances and tight muscle groups
• Ab Workshop: An in-depth look at the perfect sit-up with an informative and results-driven workout

Disney Cruise Lines Weather Statement
Disney Cruise Line
The Disney Cruise Line® continues to monitor Tropical Storm Fay very closely.
Tropical Storm Fay has stalled along the eastern coast of Florida near our homeport of Port Canaveral, and its path is uncertain at this point.
For this reason, Port Canaveral has been closed by the Port Authority and the Aug. 21, 2008 sailing of the Disney Wonder® will set sail on its 3-night itinerary from Port Everglades, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Other than the departure port change, we do not anticipate any additional changes in the upcoming Disney Wonder itinerary. Transportation will be provided for Guests with transfers and those arriving by private vehicle at Port Canaveral. It is important that departing Guests park at our terminal in Port Canaveral as the ship is scheduled to return there on Sunday, Aug. 24, 2008.
The Disney Magic® is currently on a 15-night Panama Canal voyage and is scheduled to return to Port Canaveral on Monday, Sept. 1, 2008.
The safety and security of our Guests and Crew Members are always our top priority, and we monitor the weather very closely. If necessary, our Captains are always prepared to alter the ships’ courses or itineraries to navigate away from inclement weather.

Carnival Cruise Line News 1Cheapcruise.com
Carnival Cruise Lines is reclassifying the cabins in its fleet, starting with the Carnival Valor, so they are based on their locations on the ship. “The change more clearly defines our available stateroom categories based on location and features and will enable guests to easily identify the category that best suits their specific needs and preferences,” said Lynn Torrent, senior vice president of sales and guest services at Carnival.

Carnival Cruise Lines News that impact New Orleans **
| Carnival Fantasy Departures |
| Wednesday, August 6, 2008 – 5:00 PM
Unfortunately, the operational situation in the Mississippi River remains very volatile at this time and there is the possibility of additional river closures at any time. As a result, we will divert the Carnival Fantasy to Mobile, Alabama on August 9, 2008. The following information will explain our operational plans for the Carnival Fantasy: Carnival Fantasy August 4 and August 9 Departures Guests debarking the ship on August 9 will be provided motorcoach transportation from Mobile to the New Orleans cruise terminal or the New Orleans airport. Guests scheduled to embark on August 9 should proceed to the cruise terminal in New Orleans as planned. Motorcoach transportation will be provided from the New Orleans cruise terminal to the Mobile cruise terminal. This cruise will return to Mobile on August 14 and motorcoach transportation will be provided to the New Orleans cruise terminal or the New Orleans airport. Carnival Fantasy August 14, August 18, August 23 and September 1 Departures We will now operate all of these cruises roundtrip from Mobile. If guests were driving to New Orleans, we request they proceed to the cruise terminal in Mobile. Due to the airlift constraints into Mobile, guests that purchased air transportation from Carnival or independent air transportation should fly into New Orleans as scheduled. Carnival will provide roundtrip motorcoach transportation between the New Orleans airport and Mobile on the day of arrival and departure only. We sincerely apologize to all of our guests that are impacted by this situation. The entire Carnival team will do everything possible to minimize this inconvenience. www.1Cheapcruise.com |
More YTB Travel News – 1Cheapcruise.com is a cruise Leader, join us.
thousands of its members gathered in St. Louis for a festive annual convention.
The Illinois Attorney General’s Office said it has launched a probe into YTB
International, which the top lawman in California earlier this week called “a
gigantic pyramid scheme.”
And the local chapter of the Better Business Bureau issued a report detailing
complaints it has heard of misleading offers made by the company’s sales reps.
The company has denied any wrongdoing.
The Illinois and Better Business Bureau probes are the latest signs of deeper
scrutiny of the fast-growing company, which sells cruises, flights and online
travel agencies — websites through which people can earn commissions selling
cruises and flights — for $450 up front and $50 a month.
By the end of March, YTB had sold 139,000 of these agencies and had more than
340,000 sales reps, who pay nothing but earn a commission for each agent they
sign up.
But few of those agents make money selling travel. Four out of five earned $39
or less last year, according to California Attorney General Jerry Brown, and 80
percent of the company’s revenue comes from selling new agencies, not travel
sales.
That, plus marketing campaigns which some say are misleading, led Brown to call
the YTB a pyramid scheme and file a lawsuit seeking $25 million in damages.
Now Illinois is on the case as well.
“We have an open investigation,” said Natalie Bauer, a spokeswoman for Attorney
General Lisa Madigan. “We are in the process of contacting the California
attorney general’s office about their findings.”
Bauer would not say when the Illinois probe began, but said it has been open
for “a while.” Her office has received 70 complaints about YTB since 2002.
Missouri Attorney General Jay Nixon does not have an active investigation, said
spokesman Scott Holste, and has received just a handful of complaints.
The Better Business Bureau of Eastern Missouri and Southern Illinois also has
been digging into YTB, said president Michelle Corey. It has received 90
complaints in the last three years, 40 in 2008, typically from people trying to
get a refund of their $449 joining fee.
“For the most part, people are telling us they felt deceived by the company,
primarily about their potential earnings,” she said. “After getting involved in
the program, paying up front and receiving their packet of information, what
they received was different than what they were promised.”
They also said YTB has an “unsatisfactory record” with the BBB due to
“unresolved issues.”
In a statement, company officials said they were unaware of any unresolved
complaints with the Bureau and said they’ll fight the California lawsuit.
“We are proud of our business model and how our operations are conducted in an
ethical and transparent way,” said chief executive Scott Tomer. “We also are
wholly confident that our business model will withstand scrutiny, and look
forward to setting the record straight in court.”
At the convention, which runs through Saturday and is expected to draw 20,000
people to the America’s Center, YTB reps said the complaints are misguided:
Sour grapes from people who didn’t put in the time it takes to succeed.
That’s how Craig Smith sees it. The Houston resident joined YTB eight months
ago and said he now earns more selling travel and signing up sales reps than he
did in his old full-time job in telecommunications. YTB’s product, he said,
comes exactly as advertised.
“The websites work. They do what they’re supposed to do. There’s no scam in me
selling you what it is that you said you wanted,” Smith said. “If you don’t go
out and do anything with it, and you spent $500, how is that a scam?”
